All About AI Mastering

Acoustic science over black-box magic: How authentic neural audio mastering delivers superior clarity and impact.

1.

What Neural Models Actually Deliver

Our specialized AudioSR network operates natively at 48 kHz, reconstructing missing harmonic overtones (Harmonic Air) above 16 kHz derived from organic harmonic structure—eliminating artifacts or uncontrolled hallucinated noise.

2.

Where Deterministic DSP Takes Over

Loudness computation (ITU-R BS.1770-4), peak limiting (MetaFX v5.0 Clean), and true peak oversampling enforce strict mathematical ceilings: Sample Peak ≤ −0.70 dBFS, True Peak ≤ −0.50 dBTP.

3.

The 96 kHz / 24-Bit Audiophile Delivery Target

Every paid master is rendered in pristine 96 kHz / 24-bit PCM precision (paired with a 48 kHz Streaming Master WAV) and verified with a cryptographically signed audit certificate. 96 kHz captures all ultrasonic harmonics up to 48 kHz while cutting cloud bandwidth and storage overhead by 50%.

4.

Loudness Reality: Club / Beatport (−7 to −9 LUFS) vs. Streaming (−14 LUFS)

No platform rejects loud masters! On Beatport and in club sound systems, −6 to −9 LUFS is the global benchmark for punchy DJ playback. Streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music) simply attenuate loud tracks digitally with clean faders without introducing distortion—provided True Peak remains cleanly capped at ≤ −0.50 dBTP.

Automatic Fadr Stem Mastering

One uploaded mix, one consistent mastering workflow.

Single File (Stereo WAV)

The industry standard for 95% of releases: A finished stereo mix preserves absolute phase relationships between lead vocals, kick transients, and room mics. Our engine analyzes total loudness, crest factor, and spectral balance as a cohesive work.

  • • Absolute phase integrity
  • • Fastest processing turnaround
  • • Recommended default format

Automatic Fadr separation

Every upload follows the same route: Fadr creates stems in the background before Mindbreakz performs the final master. You do not need to prepare or upload stems yourself.

  • • Surgical low-end & vocal intervention
  • • Included in Ultimate Tier & via B2B API
  • • Requires cleanly bounced stem tracks

Mixing & Headroom Preparation Guide

Essential engineering rules for optimal mixdown submission:

  1. Maintain At Least −3 to −6 dBFS Peak Headroom: Avoid brickwall limiters or clipping on your DAW master bus.
  2. Preserve a Healthy Crest Factor: A dynamic spread of 10–14 dB between RMS and peak ensures punchy transients and dynamic breathing room.
  3. Protect Mono Phase Compatibility: Ensure low-end frequencies (< 120 Hz) remain centered and phase correlation stays above +0.8.
  4. Export Lossless Only: Always export in 24-bit or 32-bit float uncompressed WAV—never submit MP3 or AAC files for mastering.

2. Legal Bases for Processing (Art. 6(1) GDPR)

  • Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (Contractual Performance): Processing user account credentials, audio file uploads, and mastering DSP processing parameters to render master outputs requested by you.
  • Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (Legal Obligations): Invoicing and financial order audit data stored under commercial and tax retention statutes.
  • Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Legitimate Interests): Rate limiting, brute-force defense, anti-scraping tokens (10-min TTL), and cryptographic SHA-256 verification receipts to guarantee service availability and integrity.

3. Audio Processing & Subprocessor Sovereignty (Art. 28 GDPR)

Mastering and Fadr cloud separation: Mindbreakz hosts its web service and GPU mastering on IONOS infrastructure in Germany. Each mastering request sends the uploaded source mix to the external provider Fadr for stem separation before mastering and downloads the resulting stems to Mindbreakz. Provider-side deletion has not been confirmed; do not assume that deleting a Mindbreakz project removes copies held by Fadr. Payment processing uses Stripe; account emails use IONOS mail.

4. Storage & Automated Retention Erasure (Art. 5(1)(e) & Art. 17 GDPR)

  • One-time packages: Purchased master downloads remain available according to the retention period shown for the purchased package.
  • Pro Studio: Masters are archived in the user's secure Cloud Vault during an active subscription.
  • Legacy purchases: Previously acquired credits and subscriptions retain the storage terms agreed at the time of purchase.

Rights reports, withdrawal and cancellation declarations include your supplied contact details, identified content or contract and receipt time. We use these records to perform contracts, meet legal obligations and establish or defend legal claims (Art. 6(1)(b), (c) and (f) GDPR as applicable). Legal-request correspondence may remain after account deletion where needed for those purposes. Access is limited to the operator and necessary service providers. Such records are reviewed for deletion when the purpose and applicable retention or limitation periods end.
